This was a test of this product and it passed. I took this device placing it in a bowl then added some vinegar water and the strawberries I'd purchased and it worked! Upon straining the berries I saw dirt and sludge on the bottom of the bowl. These berries looked clean after an initial rinse, so I know the device had to have loosened the hidden dirt to have left this sludge in the bowl.
